Knowledge, Perceptions and Behavior regarding E-cigarettes among Dental Practitioners

Background: The increased use of E-cigarettes represents an emerging concern for dental practitioners with the potential to impact clinical care. concerns for, and effects of, remain poorly understood, especially long-term use. Methods: Dental (n = 187) in Bareilly completed a 28-item survey E-cigarette knowledge, perception their current practices patients using E-cigarettes. A knowledge score was computed, associations between participant demographic characteristics items, items levels, behavior levels were explored. Results: Most do not see or ask about (33%), switching from conventional cigarette (38%) dual (55%). Practice behaviors significantly different across groupings. Low group consistently had negative practice except more positive response within recommending stopping before invasive procedures observed (mode 5). Conclusions: This study reinforces value disseminating translating this evidence through early inclusion topic hygiene training programs continuing education courses.
